Newborn Photographs

As a photographer, and a new Mom, I have this overwhelming need to not miss a key photography moment.  As I watched my baby, I noticed that she went through a range of emotions in just a few minutes.  She was so expressive and didn't seem to realize what her face was emoting.  Just fantastic to observe.  I wanted to capture her many faces.

In order to place the emphasis on the many expressions, this photo shoot was done very simply.  The newborn was in just a diaper, the parent holding the newborn was wearing a plain black t-shirt, and the backdrop for the photo shoot was a plain white wall.

Take-aways:

1.  This series of photographs tends to work better at a time when the infant is awake and a little animated.

2.  The great thing about this series of photographs is that all that is needed is a white background (in this case a white wall was used) and a black t-shirt for the parent holding the infant.

3.  The more expressive the infant's faces, the funnier this series will turn out.

A Few Favorites:

Happy Photographing!
