For all those photographers out there, the Smithsonian Magazine is holding their 9th annual photography competition.
The five photo categories which they are looking for: Altered Images, Americana, the Natural World, People and Travel. Photos must be entered by 1 Dec 2011 for consideration. The winning images will be featured in Smithsonian magazine as well as be displayed in the Smithsonian. Finalists will be announced on March 1 2012.
If you have a photograph that you think may have a shot it doesn't hurt to enter. The nice thing about this contest is that it doesn't have a photographer entry fee.
